Specialized sewing threads for overlock.
Gütermann Tera is made of filaments which are "neverending" in contrast to normal sewing threads made of short fibres. This makes the thread very strong despite the thickness. Additionally Tera is slightly transparent, which makes it easily blend with the fabric.

Some of my customers are using only two cones of Tera gray for all their overlocking, regardless of the colour of the fabrics. Gray Tera are regarded by some as a "universal" thread for overlock.

A disadvantage of this thread is it's slippery and hence not suitable for regular stitching.
Should only be used on overlock or coverstitch.

You only need two cones (3 for some coverstitches) since the needles uses regular sewing threads.
